Brain Mastery (3/8)
March 25 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Dr. Brenda Lau
Dr. Lau is a board-certified anesthesiologist, MindValley Mckenna certified hypnotherapist, and interventional pain specialist who shares 40+ years of changing pain-to-life lived experience to create this interactive and didactic 8-part series by:
- Using brain chemistry and neuroscience to achieve better pain control.
- Applying group hypnotherapy to enhance your brain function
- Tapping into Dr. Lau’s knowledge to identify where you are stuck in your healthcare journey and discuss possible solutions to move past barriers
To get the most out of your session, please ensure you are in a quiet, comfortable location and have a journal ready to capture insights and join us with a curious and open mind.
Most of all, share your mental and emotional pain points as we apply our learnings to unsticking stuck stories. In this series, think of Dr. Lau as your personal physician coach.
Identifying, acknowledging and sharing your mental and emotional pain points as they come up for you during this series are pivotal steps on how we apply our shared insight to remove the glue from some of your stuck stories.
This series is open to ALL, irrespective of your prior knowledge of brain health. No preparation is required. Group Medical Visits
The first 4 x 1.5-hour session focuses on Brain mastery with scientific data and experience in advancing the brain and body energy to achieve better control of your inner world.
Tool 1: Acquaint
Body awareness of words, physical sensation and inner rhythm. In this session, you will learn physical tools to deepen your body awareness. We’ll cover brain health concepts designed to enhance your sleep, microglia and repair mechanisms.
Tool 2: Align
The brain is first built to protect you. Your sense of safety in your mind and body is critical for the overall quality of your life. In this session, you will learn how to align your body’s energy, internally and externally, with the Brain health concepts of light nutrition, photoacceptors and aligning circadian rhythms
Tool 3: Activate
The brain is a master coordinator of all our actions by sending and receiving chemical and electrical signals throughout the body. In this session, we examine how we use life stressors to expand these connections to change our perception of pain in the body, mind or heart and build on the brain health concepts of the microbiome, immune system and nutrition.
Tool 4: Alight
The definition of Alight is “descend from the air and settle or to be illuminated.” in this session, you will learn the tools to equip the inner brain to do both. Specific brain health concepts that will be covered include the body’s response to movement and detox, as both of these impact your neurochemistry.
The next 4 x 1.5 hour sessions will deepen your understanding of the inner workings of the brain and how you can utilize these to achieve better pain control by unblocking your brain. Brain mastery goes hand in hand with flow neuroscience.
These four sessions share discussions on the building blocks of flow neuroscience: curiosity, autonomy, mastery, passion and purpose.
Tool 5: Pass
Flow is defined as a steady, continuous stream of something. In brain mastery, reducing friction and blocks in energy enables problem-solving to pass through, bypass or surpass with more ease. The brain health concepts that will be covered in this section include active training of the vagus nerve system.
Tool 6: Paint
Paint is a verb and a noun. To paint is to cover the surface of (something) with paint, which is as decoration or a form of protection. Our lived experience is written into our DNA, but the brain is neuroplastic, and its connections are subject to change. In this session, you will explore how to apply paint to your inner world. The Brain health tools that will be covered in this section are focused on the use of curiosity and discovering new anchors as you learn how to rewire your brain over time.
Tool 7: Play
Play for the brain is like fertilizer for a tree. In this session, we discuss how to maximize brain energy and expand brain function – you will learn how to do this by achieving a balance of routine and change, non-time and inspired action towards mastery.
