The experience of widespread pain is caused by changes in the body that are referred to as ‘central sensitization’. Simplified, this means that the nervous system and brain responds to external stimuli with increased sensitivity. This leads to the experience of touch as pain, or light and sound with much more intensity, as examples.
This will be a non-didactic group that will match the needs and interests of the people involved with Dr. Alexandra’s unique skills as a specialist in central sensitivity, a Functional Medicine train doctor, and a student of mind-body techniques.
