This 6-part series is a practical and didactic lesson supporting patients in pain towards a measured steady forward progress. This content is specifically relevant to those suffering with chronic fatigue syndrome, dysautonomia, fibromyalgia, and patients in pain struggling with recurrent boom and bust cycles.
Through journaling, case examples, and other learning and self-discovery tools one will be empowered to recognize helpful and unhelpful behaviors, set individual goals, and gently shift lifestyle habits. The end goal of this series is to create an individualized pacing plan to meet each person at their specific stage of recovery.
Class 1-2:
- Understanding boom and bust cycles in pain how this effects one’s recovery
- Understand body energy systems and mitochondria
- Intro into energy envelope: the role of physical, cognitive, social/emotional measures
- Independent home task: Creating a personalized Journal to improve self-awareness
Class 3-4:
- Check in on independent home task: Creating a personalized Journal to improve self-awareness
- Reflections on “awareness” and learnings from this task
- Energy Leaks and Deep Dive into Physical & Cognitive Energy Envelop, examples
- SMART Goals & Meaning Making
- Independent home task: Fine tuning journal and setting priorities
Class 5-6:
- Check in on independent home task: Fine tuning journal and setting priorities
- Reflections on learnings and limitations from “setting priorities”
- Energy Leaks and Deep Dive into Social & Emotional Energy Envelope, examples
- Empowering tools to move forward and progress
- How to manage setbacks
- Recommendations for progress and recovery
